Spring Forward on Your Creative Journey with “Spring Writes”

As we ease into spring (at least in the northern hemisphere!), what better time to start thinking about new beginnings and fresh starts?

And new a beginning and fresh start is just what I’m proposing with Spring Writes: a new beginning and fresh start on your writerly journey.

What is Spring Writes?

An invigorating blend of workshop and writing group, Spring Writes is designed to get you writing…and keep you writing. In each session of the five-week series, I guide you through dynamic experiences into writing — visualizations, meditations and other inspiring exercises, all crafted to fire up your creativity.

It doesn’t matter what you write, or even if you’re not yet writing, Spring Writes is open to all — whatever your genre, form or medium and wherever you are on your creative journey.

And wherever you are on that journey, Spring Writes invites you to share what you have written and experienced. These are not “critiquing” sessions. They are opportunities to experience yourself being heard without judgment, a too-rare occurrence at the best of times…even rarer in these times.

Spring Writes also offers you a forum where you can get answers to your questions about any aspect of writing and the creative process.

Why Spring Writes?

  • Spring Writes Is About You. Unlike traditional workshops, which focus on a particular topic or curriculum, Spring Writes is focused on you, as well as on the singular needs of your fellow participants. Whatever those individual and group needs, Spring Writes addresses them, not only in my answers to your questions, but through each week’s guided experience. Whether it’s a visualization, meditation or other exercise, I devise it on the spot, in real time, based on my intuited sense of what best serves each and all of you.

  • Spring Writes Is Recorded. As each experience of a particular exercise is unique, free access to the week’s video allows you to go deeper by repeating a session’s exercise. Should you miss a live session, the recording ensures you won’t miss that week’s exercise..

  • Spring Writes Is an Oasis of Support. Nowhere in either the writing workshop world or the greater world is your voice more supported and your creativity more nurtured than in my groups and workshops.

  • Spring Writes Is Time to Write. If, in a 21st century overflowing with tasks, obligations and responsibilities, you are challenged to find time to write, Spring Writes guarantees that you’re writing at least once every week.

There is a reason why LA’s Luke Yankee calls me “the best friend a writer ever had.” Through more than three decades of teaching and coaching both new writers and seasoned professionals, I have motivated, inspired, encouraged and guided thousands of women and men of all ages to rekindle their innate creativity, reignite their natural creative flow and get their stories onto the page with ease.

Through Spring Writes, I will do the same for you.

Moreover, I will introduce you to my groundbreaking “Muse Stream” method, guaranteed to power you through any creative blocks and to not only free those stories you know about but awaken those that lie beyond your conscious awareness.

Who is Luke Yankee? He is an award-winning author, playwright, screenwriter, producer and director, and he is also creator and host of TV’s Conversations on Craft, a popular seminar series held in conjunction with the Stella Adler Theater, one of America’s oldest and most respected theater schools.

“I’m a storyteller,” Luke went on to say, “and Mark David Gerson has really helped feed that and get me through some lean creative times.”

Here’s what others say after experiencing one of my classes, groups or workshops…

  • “An absolute life-changing experience, far beyond my expectations.” Joanna Tschudy, St. Louis, MO

  • “Best writing teacher ever!” Kate Thomas, Lynchburg, VA

  • “Surpassed my wildest expectations…the most powerful force in my life since the first class.” Patricia MacInnes, Toronto, ON

  • “Mark David Gerson is a master…one of the great teachers.” Rev. Mary Omwake, Unity minister and member of the Ass’n for Global New Thought’s leadership council

I practice what I teach…
