It's Always Impossible Until It's Done
Human flight? Impossible...until the Wright brothers did it.
Reaching the top of Mount Everest? Impossible...until Edmund Hilary and Sherpa Tensing Norgay stepped onto the summit.
Running a mile in less than four minutes? Impossible...until Roger Bannister managed it in three minutes and fifty nine and four-tenths of a second.
A human on the moon? Impossible...until Neil Armstrong took his giant leap for mankind.
Each of those trailblazers proved that the impossible was possible...not only for them, but for those who followed.
In the nearly seventy years since Bannister’s run, the four-minute barrier has been breached by more than sixteen hundred athletes. Eleven men have followed Armstrong onto the moon. More than six thousand men and women have followed in Hilary’s and Norgay’s snowy footsteps. And the “impossibility” of human flight has been experienced by billions of us since Orville Wright took off from Kitty Hawk, North Carolina on December 17, 1903.
It’s always impossible until it’s done.

"Act as Though and Make It So"
In Lewis Carrol's Through the Looking Glass, the White Queen tells Alice that she sometimes believes six impossible things before breakfast.
Can you be like the White Queen and come up with one thing that your logical mind might consider impossible but that you know in your heart to be possible?
Can you then follow The Way of the Abundant Fool's Step #6 and come up with just one step you can take to "act as though" in order to "make it so"?
Maybe this will help: It's the affirmation for Step #6. (Each of The Way of the Abundant Fool's 12½ steps includes stories that demonstrate the step in action and that link the step to the archetype of the Fool; exercises to help you integrate the step; and a simple affirmation to help you anchor that step into your life.)...
"I, [insert your full name], stretch my sense of the possible and act as though I cannot fail. As the Fool that I am, I acknowledge and live in infinite possibility. And so it is."
I Thought It Was Impossible...Until I Did It!
The latest example in my own life of the impossible becoming possible is The Way of the Abundant Fool, which is where the story about Armstrong, Bannister and those other trailblazers appears.
I imagine that most authors who indie-publish use logic, common sense and a calendar to choose their publication dates. However, if you’ve read any of my books, it won’t surprise you to learn that I leave that decision to my intuition.
Here’s how it generally works…
Not long after I start on a new book, a publication date bubbles up into my conscious awareness. Inevitably, my first response is, “That’s impossible!” In the end, somehow (and I'm not sure how!), I always meet the deadline.
That’s what’s happened with The Way of the Abundant Fool, a book I'd barely begun in late 2018 before putting it aside for other projects. All I'd done back then was to sketch out a draft of the 12½ steps.
When I returned to the manuscript six weeks ago, I intuited August 28 as its publication date. Despite that date's significance (it’s the 3rd anniversary of my arrival back in Sedona; you’ll understand why that’s significant when you get to the book’s Step #12½), I didn't see how I could write the book and get it out in eight weeks.
Still, I couldn't ignore the book's Step #6: "Act as Though and Make It So." So that's what I did. Without trying to figure out how it was possible (while not always convinced that it was possible!), I did everything I could to "act as though."
It worked. I finished the book last week, and it will be out on the 28th.
Not only that, the first reviewer feedback is already in, calling it "brilliant, inspired, timely and wise!"
It's always impossible until it's done! And that's as true for you as it is for me!
